France goes green

Exciting news – oui oui!

France recently passed a law mandating all new buildings constructed in commercial zones must contain green roof elements, including vegetation and/or photovoltaic panels. The benefits of these sustainable green roofs range from rainwater retention capabilities, heat island effect, and increased urban habitats for a range of animals – not to mention they look great and can become vibrant park-like zones for play, learning and food cultivation.
