Y2Y Harvard Square, now being built out, and scheduled to open in mid-December, will more than double the available shelter beds for youth in the Boston area. It is truly the effort of a wide community, with many people donating time and skills. In addition to Studio G and Skanska, many volunteers have been hard at work assembling casework and painting.
If you didn’t see the media coverage of Y2Y’s Pre-opening Ceremony at First Parish Church in Cambridge on November 6th, check out the coverage on www.Boston.com. The guest speakers included Senator Elizabeth Warren, Boston Chief of Health and Human Services Felix Arroyo, and a number of the youth leaders of the project. The audience, which filled the sanctuary, was deeply moved by the stories and passion expressed by the speakers.
