Controller for Architecture Firm

Studio G is a collaborative and diverse architecture studio designing socially and environmentally responsive buildings for public, private and non-profit clients.  The 17 person firm is located in Jamaica Plain’s vibrant Brewery complex.  We design educational, multi-family housing, and institutional projects primarily in Massachusetts, but have federal projects in other New England states.

We seek a full-time Controller who is highly organized and able to prioritize among diverse tasks, coordinate with other senior leadership, and is interested in helping grow this mission-oriented firm.  The Controller will oversee all financial matters of the firm and will be responsible for all of the daily and monthly accounting duties.  The firm uses Ajera for accounting and project management.  Responsibilities include overseeing HR for payroll, benefits, etc, as well as shared supervision of an administrative staff person.  This position reports directly to the Managing Principal and interfaces with other design principals and project managers, outside CPA firm, financial institutions, vendors, HR consultant and insurance consultants.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Experience:

  • BS Degree in Accounting strongly preferred
  • 5-10 years of experience in the design and/or construction industry required
  • Expertise with Ajera, Deltek Vision or other similar design industry accounting and project management software required; Ajera preferred
  • Microsoft Word and Excel
