Studio G Architects Advances Staff and Broadens Team

Studio G Architects is proud to announce three promotions and four new hires.

“Studio G has been blessed with dedicated, talented individuals across the firm,” said Gail Sullivan, Managing Principal of Studio G. “These promotions and new hires reflect our firm’s commitment to bring exceptional skills, energy, and experience to each project and client.”

Steven Michener, a key member of Studio G for more than 12 years, focuses his project management, problem solving skills, and expertise in construction documentation in his new role as Associate. He has been a key contributor to many of our K-12 public school projects including Boston Prep and is currently Project Manager for Design & Construction for Excel Academy’s new middle school as well as part of the quality control team for the MSBA Florence Roche Elementary School project.

Gabriela Shelburne has been promoted to Project Manager after more than 8 years for contributing strong design ideas on a variety of projects, a passion for sustainability, capacity for community engagement, and ability to coordinate project teams. Gaby’s efforts were fundamental to the successful developer award for E+ Highland by Boston’s Department of Neighborhood Development, the largest energy positive multi-family building in the city.

With Studio G for 2 years, Laurene Demoy has been promoted to Marketing Director. Dedicated to Studio G’s mission to developing a sustainability-focused business, she leads business development and project pursuit efforts in several areas while advancing the firm’s brand awareness and recognition.

Marylee Mercy, Meryl Nistler, David Mazzocco, and Hunter Pattershall are all recent additions to Studio G’s team. Each bring their own unique experience and skills to our design and project management team.

Throughout her 13-year career Marylee has worked on a wide variety of project types. As Staff Architect III for Studio G she brings innovative design solutions to K-12 and higher-education academic facilities, currently as a member of the MSBA Florence Roche Elementary School team.

Meryl, Studio G’s newest Project Manager and now working on the MSBA Florence Roche Elementary School, brings two decades of professional experience, a diverse portfolio of building types that include early education design, K-12 academic facilities, and adaptive reuse projects, and deep experience in managing projects through design and completion.

Designer II David Mazzocco brings significant experience and best practices in BIM to Studio G. His early education design experience compliments Studio G’s and strengthens his attention to design and detail. He is currently working on two studies for behavioral health projects.

Hunter received their M.Arch degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 2017 and joins Studio G as Designer II. Their passion for climate change, social justice, and equity and equality infuses each of Hunter’s projects. They are currently working on designs of a men’s rehabilitation facility for the Commonwealth.
