Over the past year we have been impressed by the creative problem-solving employed by our diverse clients. Boston Prep is a prime example. Highlighted in a recent Boston Globe opinion column, the grade 6-12 charter school in Hyde Park opened in September for high needs students and added other student cohorts to its target of 225 students and 79 teachers this week.
Their approach has included a combination of free individual PCR Covid testing, removing walls to create larger learning spaces, converting 2 cafeterias into oversized classrooms, and improving ventilation with HEPA filters and opening windows. Students enter the building through designated grade level entries with daily temperature checks performed on students and staff.
Looking forward, Studio G is happy to be working with Boston Prep to reconstruct the eliminated learning space walls in preparation for learning after the pandemic.
