Guest blogger, Hunter Pattershall, loves a good board game, especially when they can combine it with their love of nature!
Nature is something deeply healing and rewarding for us, and something many of us in quarantine have found hard to come by. What if it’s possible to get a little bit of nature and playing a game? When you think of playing a board game plants are not something that come to mind. However, one of our designers, Hunter, has come across just that – two different boards games centered around plants.
Photosynthesis – described as “the green strategy board game! Plant and shape the ever-changing forest as you cultivate your seeds and your strategy. Take your trees through their life-cycle, from seedling to full bloom to rebirth, and earn points as their leaves collect energy from the revolving sun’s rays. Carefully pick where you sow and when you grow, as trees in the shadows are blocked from light, and from points. This game features realistic gameplay and beautiful graphics.

Herbaceous – Relax as you collect and plant an assortment of flavorful herbs in your garden.
Maybe you can’t go outside or don’t the space to grow a garden, but for a moment of your day the little Herbaceous herb garden can be there for you. Dreaming of something a bit bigger? Try your hand at being an arborist with Photosynthesis. With Photosynthesis you can really wrap your head around the life cycles and what different causes and effects can do to an ecosystem. A reminder to us all during Earth Week that we need to protect and appreciate the nature around us.
